What is Massage Therapy?

The practice of Massage Therapy is the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissue and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain. Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat a large variety of conditions and symptoms such as acute or chronic pain, digestive disorders, fertility and pre/postnatal care, headaches and migraines, various sleep conditions and to support mental health. Acupuncture strives to restore balance to the body by inserting extremely thin, sterile needles into specific points. These points are selected for each individual based on their unique constitution and the symptoms they are experiencing.

 Initial Assessment and Treatment: $90

Your first acupuncture appointment gives us an opportunity to examine your health history,

symptoms and goals of treatment using the Traditional Chinese Medicine style assessments. A

verbal consultation followed by tongue and pulse analysis allows us to design a treatment plan

together, addressing your concerns safely and effectively by honouring your unique constitution

to restore balance. An initial assessment includes your first treatment and will take up to 60

minutes. It is best to have something light to eat 60-90 minutes before you receive acupuncture.

Follow-up: $60

Follow up appointments allow us to track the progress of treatment, exploring new and old

symptoms to further refining your treatment protocol accordingly. Follow up appointments take

up to 45 minutes and include a brief re-assessment prior to treatment. It is best to have something

light to eat 60-90 minutes before you receive acupuncture.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathic treatments have influence on the anatomical structures of the body so that there may be proper physiological function and in turn encourage the body's intrinsic ability to self-heal.

How does it work?

Imagine you have a stone in your shoe. You will automatically change the way you walk in order to compensate for the stone. You will place more weight on the opposite foot and alter the way you swing you arms. Your nervous system is telling you there is a sensation change in your foot. Your blood pressure may increase slightly because of the discomfort. If you can't get the stone out straight away, your ankle may start hurting due to the change in gait, or your knee or your hip. This is an example of what happens when lesions occur in the body. Osteopathy searches for the stone and works to correct any compensating alteration patterns.

What to expect at an initial appointment?

A thorough health history is taken and a physical assessment followed by treatment. Appointments take approximately 45 minutes and are conducted fully clothed. For ease and comfort during treatment, please wear loose, comfortable clothing (no jeans). A follow up appointment is approximately 30 minutes.

WHAT IS IRIDOLOGY?

The window to the body.

Iridology is the analysis of the iris to determine genetic and inherent weaknesses and strengths in the body. By way of definition, it is the science and practice of revealing inflammation, where located, and in what stage it is manifesting. The iris reveals bodily conditions, inherent weaknesses, levels of health, and the transition that takes place in a person’s body according to the way he or she lives.

Iridology.jpg

HOW IT WORKS

How does the iris represent all this? Contained within the iris are thousands of nerve filaments. They receive messages from virtually every nerve in the human body via connections with the optic nerves, optic thalami, and spinal cord. Also, microscopic muscle fibers and tiny blood vessels are within the eye. In cooperation the nerve filaments, muscle fibers and blood vessels duplicate tissue changes simultaneously with reflex associated organs of the body. Thus, by examining the markings, discolorations, textures and other iris manifestations, the practitioner is able to analyze the health level of all major organs and tissues.

WHAT IRIDOLOGY CAN REVEAL

Discover the origins of illness.

  • Inherent strengths and weaknesses from genetic origin

  • Hyperactivity and hypoactivity of the pituitary, thyroid, adrenals, and to what degree

  • Circulatory issues, anemia, congested arteries

  • Where toxins have accumulated: lymphatic system, skin, bowel, lungs, brain

  • Condition of the digestive tract and how well nutrients are absorbed

  • Excess acidity in the body and where it is primarily manifesting

  • Acute, subacute and chronic weaknesses in the liver, gallbladder, ovaries, pancreas, stomach, bladder and more…

  • Poor memory function

  •  Drug ingestion and settlement

  •  Healing and recovery of the body tissues

Jillian Wisborg, CNP, ROHP, RNCP

A Registered Nutritionist, Clinical Iridologist with skills in Orthomolecular nutrition, trained as an Herbalist Consultant for Western, Chinese and Ayurvedic herbs from the East West School in California, and a Reiki Practitioner (Level 2, completing Level 3, on my way to becoming a teacher).

I work with clients to improve their mental health, focus, physical endurance, recovery from injuries and exercise, digestive support, detoxification, skin concerns, and more. I enjoy complicated cases including working with weight GAIN, and flexibility (because herbs DO make a difference). Using Iridology and the Nutribody Analysis, as well as just being in a person’s presence, I can pick up on core health concerns, and the nutritional and emotional aspects that need care.

The Iridology service helps me to get a glimpse (and the client) into which organ systems are dysfunctional. The Nutribody Analysis gives information to what nutrient deficiencies, and heavy metal concerns may be presently affecting the ultimate health of a person.
